1. Read through provided instructions.
2. Choose Collection Day. For diurnal cortisol, the testing day does not matter. You can
collect on any day of the month. (There is no need to adjust your hormone
prescription. Just make your Bionic team aware of any glucocorticoids,
hydrocortisone, and prednisone beforehand.)
3. Avoid anti-aging/anti-wrinkle facial creams for 3 days prior to testing.
4. Complete the form.
5. On the day of collection, do not eat, drink except water or brush teeth for at least 2
hours prior to collecting each sample, including the morning sample.
6. You will collect 4 tubes for this test. If you do not plan to ship within 24 hours of
collection, freeze your samples. Collection times include:
a. Wake up
b. Before lunch
c. Before dinner
d. Before bedtime
7. First collection: Must be no more than 30 minutes after waking, so start the collection
process as soon as you wake. It can take 15-30 minutes to complete the collection.
Have your tube and a pen available.
a. Rinse mouth with water. Wait 5 minutes before collecting.
b. In the meantime, write name, date, time of collection on the tube.
c. Wash hands with soap and water. Dry with a clean towel.
d. Fill the tube at least half full with saliva, not including bubbles. Cap the tube.
e. Repeat this process for other collection times. Do not eat, drink (except water)
or brush teeth at least 2 hours prior to collection.
f. Complete the form, adding in collection times. Make sure to sign your form.
g. Place tubes inside a plastic test kit box. Place the test kit box inside the return
packaging. Affix the prepaid label. Return using the carrier listed on the label.
